There is a misconception about Phoenix Neighborhood Patrol requirements. It’s function in the community and in Phoenix. To qualify: 18 yrs+, city of Phx resident, govt issued photo id, PNP 4hr course completion. Pass Background check.
Residents are the eyes and ears of the Phoenix Police Department. The course trains you to observe. No power to arrest or detain anyone. How to spot & report suspicious criminal behavior, stolen vehicles etc. Your neighborhood benefits from your participation.
However, once the course is completed there are no set required hours per week. You decide your hours and whether to submit your documentation.
